Most BMW owners would prefer to maintain the interiors of their car as luxurious as affordable for them. It is a pride to own a BMW itself and hence they would not want to lose the pride by having a shabby or a old company made interior for many years. BMW has a great design and paints that can last long. So there is no need to worry about repainting your car or changing the accessories to make it look new. Various accessories like alarm systems, fog lamps, spoilers and rims are available both at factory outlets and from certain other producers.

Window tints

One such accessory which is in huge demand is the window tint. Window tint not only adds up to the design aspect of your car, it also gives you protection from the sun. Window tints come in various shades and varying darkness. The darker the window tint is, the more hidden the interiors of the car. Window tints are used in windshields, sunroofs and windows and uniform shades are available for all parts. A new BMW will not come with any window tint as the company would concentrate more on the shining aspect of the window and body.

Why is window tinting essential?

Window tints have heat rejection films to reduce the amount of harmful radiation from entering through the window. There are two ways of applying the tint. In summer, when the tint is pasted on the outer walls, it prevents the external heat from entering into the car. While in winter, the tint is applied on the inner surface and it prevents the heat from escaping out and hence keeps the interior warm.

There are 6 major reasons for which you must opt for window tinting.

• To keep the interiors of your car cooler during summer

• To protect your skin from the harmful radiations that can easily pass through transparent glass

• To maintain privacy and comfort

• To protect the interior leather and plastic parts from sunlight

• To prevent the glass piece from shattering after an accident

• To prevent dangerous glare and helps you stay focused on driving

Features of window tints

Each tint consists of several layers of thin films and each film has its own use. There is a layer of hard adhesive scratch resistant film followed by UV blockers. One side is coated with water activated adhesive for reducing pressure. All these films together constitute to the tinted look of your windows.

Window tinting costs ranging from $100 to $400. This indicates there are various types of tinting and various shops which offer tinting for your car. Choose the shop and type of your window tint wisely as window tinting is mostly a permanent process. Removing tints may remove the new shiny looks of your windows. Choose the shade which will best suit the color of your car. A good established shop will have various shades and ideas to offer and they will suggest much cooler designs which will impress you.

Darker shades of window tints are illegal in most countries. Shades up to 35% are pretty much legal in all states in the US. There are many points to be considered while applying your window tint. So it is much better to go to an established shop for tinting as they would strictly follow these procedures. Window tinting for your BMW is available for net order at various sites and they offer best deals. So it is a good deal to tint your BMW windows and add up to its cozy look and stay cooler inside.

BMW owners know that their cars come with many special features. Leather interiors and superior handling are commonly enjoyed. Perhaps you are in possession of the new M3 Coupe, with its V-8, 414 horsepower engine and flared fenders. Drivers in love with a sports drive likely have a BMW Z3 Coupe or Roadster sitting in their garages. The control you get behind the wheel of a Z3 is what many sports car drivers relish. Many savor their morning and evening commutes much more now that they have chosen their BMWs. The ride in your BMW can be made even more pleasurable when you use quality M3 speakers or Z3 speakers in conjunction with your car’s audio system. Speakers can make or break your enjoyment of your music as you drive along, so it makes sense to invest in speakers that do their job well.

Speakers in your vehicle, or anywhere else, are the go-between to convert the digital signals stored in various formats into sounds that you can hear. Sound is created by changes in air pressure that produces a wave that, when it reaches your eardrum, vibrates it, which our brains receive as a sound. Your favorite musical artist, for example, sings his or her song into a microphone, and it is encoded as an electrical bit or byte on whatever recording media is being used. When you play these electrical signals back on your iPod, for example, the amplifier in your iPod sends the electrical signal to the speaker, which turns it into vibrations that your ears can pick up as sounds, and thus you can hear your song.

A good set of speakers is quite sensitive to changes in air pressure, which results in a better quality sound when your songs play on those speakers. Speakers consist of a diaphragm, voice coil, magnets, and some type of enclosure. The diaphragm, which is also known as a driver, is held in suspension over the voice coil, which is attached to the bottom of the diaphragm. Under the diaphragm and the voice coil is the permanent magnet. Vibrations to the diaphragm are caused when electricity flows through the voice coil. Fluctuations in the electrical current cause the vibrations to occur in the voice coil, because the electromagnet of the voice coil is both attracted to and repelled by the permanent magnet beneath it. Thus, vibrations in the diaphragm occur, based on the electrical signal from your song, which leads to the production of sound waves. Because higher-pitched sounds are produced at higher frequencies of vibration, those sounds are best produced on a driver designed to accommodate more vibration. Those are tweeters. Low sounds come across as most lifelike on drivers called woofers, while midrange drivers capture the midrange frequencies best.

It’s the simple things in life that can make it most enjoyable, and excellent sound produced from M3 speakers and Z3 speakers is one of those that mean so much.

Wayne Hemrick is an audio technician specializing in the installation of the M3 speakers and Z3 speakers in bmw autos. Waynes knowledge about the many audio features and upgrades for your BMW, makes installation of speakers quick and easy. If you are considering upgrading your bmw stereo system to include the M3 speakers or Z3 speakers, this clear explanation of speakers for bmw autos is a good place to start.

Older model BMW convertible tops were a cloth or vinyl soft top, which adds a higher degree of customizability for the vehicle owner from one of the world’s leading automobile brands, than do hard tops or newer retractable hard tops. Like their hard top counterparts, the soft top convertible tops or roofs are basically fixed to the vehicle by means of a metal top frame that is hinged and folds away behind the rear seats of a car into a convertible top boot. The convertible tops allow flexibility to the structure of the automobile. The automobile can be changed from a closed, confined vehicle to an open air one, usually at a push of a button.

Types of BMW convertible tops:

Of course, the type of convertible top you need is dependant on the type of vehicle you have. BMW developed a variety of convertible models over the years. One of the most popular BMW models with a soft top option is the BMW 3-Series for model years 1972 through 2006. Model years after 2006 have a retractable hard top option, which are more expensive and not as flexible in material and color choice as a soft top. There are also models that are standard with convertible tops such as the sporty and very popular BMW Z3 and M Roadster, and BMW Z4 and M Roadster.

With a BMW convertible top, soft top, you have a variety of color and material options when replacing your top compared to a retractable hard top. This gives you more flexibility in your budget by allowing you to change the material or color to customize your BMW.

Specifications of the different models

BMW 3-series: The BMW 3-series of 1987-1993 are available in three varieties of topping material – German classic, Twillfast II, and Stayfast. These BMW convertible tops have windows made of plastic usually with a green tint. The standard color options available are black, brown and blue, however more options are available at different price points. The BMW 3-series of 1994-1996 were originally manufactured with Haartz Twillfast II topping material. You should look for tops with factory plastic retainers attached, which makes installation easier. It is recommended that the tension straps are also replaced at the time of replacing the convertible top as these wear out. The BMW 3-series of 1994-99 variety has different headliners to choose from depending on the year, manual lock or power lock option on the vehicle, and top frame configuration. The headliners come in a charcoal (dark gray) shade and are available in a variety of patterns to fit two and three bow configurations and if the top is a manual or power lock. Some vehicles are equipped with an automated system, allowing the driver to close the top simply with the push of a button. Other models have a manual latching system, which must be operated by hand. The 2000-2006 series of BMW convertible tops have all the regular features of the earlier series, in addition to Haartz Twillfast RPC topping material. This has superior acoustic properties than the earlier Twillfast II.

BMW Z3: The BMW Z3 Roadster convertible tops, in the early models, had some design flaws that were corrected. Some of the design corrections included addition of relief pockets, a stiffener over the plastic window, and inclusion of elastic straps to provide extra support to the tension straps.

BMW Z4: The BMW Z4 series use the same Haartz Twillfast RPC topping material of the earlier series, and are available in three variety of colors, including beige, grey, and black.

So if you are the owner of a BMW car, you have plenty of choices to make it look unique and classy with the various convertible tops available.
Your BMW z3 is such a delight to drive. There is nothing like heading out on the open road in this wonderful vehicle, except taking a spin in your z3 while listening to your favorite music or books on tape. There are many online sources for BMW audio upgrades. Most carry a full line of customized BMW z3 speakers as well as BMW car stereo accessories and kits for ipod, bluetooth and satellite radio integration fitting into your car’s existing radio and navigation interfaces. Your BMW z3 audio system can be much improved quickly and easily.

Your BMW z3 speakers will make or break the quality of sound that you can achieve in your z3. Popular aftermarket audio components include speakers for BMW z3 audio systems available in speaker packages, subwoofer systems and speaker pairs.

Customized speakers for BMW z3 audio systems are designed to fit in your z3 with no modifications to the interior of the vehicle at all. These speaker packages come as plug and play units, making it easy even for non-mechanics to change out the speakers. By simply upgrading your speakers alone you will notice a marked improvement in the sound quality of your BMW car stereo.

BMW subwoofer systems are the perfect choice for when you want your BMW z3 audio to have maximum bass capabilities. Typically, subwoofer systems take up a great deal of room in your trunk; however, many companies offers subwoofer systems that conserve your cargo space.

Speaker pairs make a great choice when you want maximum control over every aspect of sound quality produced by your BMW audio system. Select from tweeters, midranges and midbases designed to fit your BMW z3. Tweeters are used to amplify and improve the high-pitched sounds in your music. You can replace the tweeters that came from the factory in your z3 by simply plugging in the new ones. Look for customized midrange speakers for both the z3 roadster and coupe. Without properly functioning midrange speakers, you will have distorted vocals, guitars and other sounds in your music. Only basic tools are needed to switch out these types of speakers. New midbases are easy to replace by simply keeping the factory grilles that come standard in your z3 in place. This keeps your interior looking just as it did when you bought it. Durable materials are used in the construction of our midbase speakers, so that they will last for several years.

Your BMW z3 audio system can benefit from upgrades including ipod integration and speaker upgrades. Most audio solution providers carry auxiliary input and installation accessories to make your BMW z3 audio system upgrade a breeze.
